Bessie's father was James Henry Miller, born 23 Sep 1902 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, married March 1932, died 24 Sep 1977 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas. Jim Henry had a brother Hiram and a sister Bessie.  Bessie's mother was Odessa Preston, born 3 Nov 1906 in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas, and died 28 Mar 1988 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas. Odessa's siblings were Adolphus, Robert, Zona Ethel, Ozella, Walter, Hilda, Edward, Milton Nathaniel, Roscoe Essau, Leola, and Willie M   Odessa     Jim Henry     Hiram Miller     Bessie Miller Huff

Andrew's father was Andrew Mayfield, born abt 1875 in Mendin or Mangham, Louisiana, married about 1920, and died 14 Feb 1948 in Winnsboro, Louisiana. Andrew's mother was Rosie Lee Jackson, born abt 1904 in Delhi, Louisiana, and died 1956 in Winnsboro, Louisiana.  Rosie had a sister Ethel. Jim Henry Miller's father was William Miller, born Feb 1858 in South Carolina, married 14 Feb 1890 in Kaufman County, Texas, and died before 1958 in Texas. Jim Henry's mother was Annie Crittendon, born Oct 1858 in Alabama, and died before 1958 in Texas. Annie's siblings were Angie A., Lizzie, Andrew, John, Fannie, William, Thomas, Solomon, Mollie, Henry, Jack, Logan and Stephen.

Odessa Preston's father was Adolphus Preston, born 17 Mar 1884, married about 1905, and died 15 Aug 1964 in Kaufman County, Texas. Odessa's mother was Dora Eva Foster, born 31 Mar 1886 in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas, and died 29 Apr 1980 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas. Dora's siblings were Frances, Sylvester, Walter, Lillian, Sam, Charley, Sandy and Elons. Family story says Dora was a Blackfoot indian.

Annie Crittenden's father was Solomon Crittenden, born May 1825 in Alabama, married 1 Jul 1866 in Lauderdale, Alabama, and died 1910 in Kaufman County, Texas. Annie's mother was Ellen Tapp, born Sep 1843 in Alabama, and died 1905 in Kaufman County, Texas. Solomon and Ellen and their oldest children were slaves.

Family story says that Adolphus's father was a white slave owner named Lewis Preston who raped Adolphus's mother, a slave named Margaret, when she was 13.

Dora Foster's father was Alex Foster, born Apr 1856 in Ohio, married about 1878, and died 26 Feb 1943 in Harrison County, Texas. Dora's mother was Annie Carraway, born March 1864 in Texas, and died 10 Jan 1970 in Harrison County, Texas.
